Become a Teacher!
Receive up to $4,000 per year (full time) with a total of $16,000 for undergraduate study and $ 8,000 for graduate programs.
This grant is available to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families. PCOE News
- Congratulations to Ms. Sally Ann Swearingen for receiving a grant from The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE). In the past, SFA programs have marketed students by hosting an annual senior design show on campus. With the economy's present state and location of the campus, most firms are not visiting the campus for recruitment; th...erefore SFA programs must be more resourceful. With the grant, a new technology, Transportable Digital Portfolios, can be created. With this advancement, the exhibit can be transported to high schools, community colleges, design trade shows, and other venues to promote student success. Implementing this tool will also help with the teaching and practicing of being green. This program will impact 90 students per year.
- Congratulations to Dr. Barry Stafford and Dr. Michael Munro on being accepted to present, Transforming Training in Orientation & Mobility, at the 2013 Association for Education and Rehabilitation (AER) Orientation and Mobility Conference in New Orleans. Their proposal was chosen from more than 100 submitted by the conference committee.
- Dr. Nina Ellis-Hervey, an Assistant Professor in the School Psychology doctoral program, recently was accepted to present her workshop proposal, "The Utlization of social Media for Professional Development and Scholary Research: The 21st Century New and Effective Way to Educate", at the Texas Association of Black Personnel in High Education.
