Ryan Anthony, principal trumpet with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and former member of the Canadian Brass, will present a guest trumpet recital at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, in the Music Recital Hall of the Wright Music Building on the SFA campus.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present Ryan Anthony, principal trumpet with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, in a guest artist recital at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, in the Music Recital Hall. Admission is free.

Anthony, a former member of the world-renowned Canadian Brass, and Ron Petti, SFA director of accompanying, will perform works by Gabriel Fauré, J.N. Hummel, W.A. Mozart and G.P. Telemann.

In addition to his full-time position with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Anthony performs throughout the United States as a soloist and chamber musician. He has recently appeared as a guest soloist with the Springfield Symphony, Pensacola Symphony, Winston-Salem Symphony, Bozeman Symphony and San Juan Symphony, to name a few.

A devoted educator, Anthony has held residency positions at the University of Memphis, University of Toronto and Music Academy of the West and continues his annual residency at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival. He has also given master classes around the globe. While in Nacogdoches, he will present a master class to SFA trumpet students.

The Music Recital Hall is located in Room 160 of the Tom and Peggy Wright Music Building, 2210 Alumni Dr. on the SFA campus.
