SFA to host Family Issues Summit


Stephen F. Austin State University will host the Family Issues Summit at 9 a.m. Friday, March 26, at the Early Childhood Research Center on the SFA Campus.

Students, professionals, volunteers and anyone working with families are encouraged to attend. Several topics ranging from financial management to nutrition and health will be discussed.

Dr. Carolyn Abel, professor, and Dr. Jannah Nerren, assistant professor, both of the Department of Elementary Education, will be the keynote speakers. In their "Dancing Babies" lecture, they will use videos of toddlers dancing to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and Plato's Cave of Early Learning to discuss the power of emulation.
