Sarah Frisof

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present Sarah Frisof in a guest flute recital at 6 p.m. Friday, April 1, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus. The recital is free and open to the public.

Frisof, assistant professor of flute at the University of Texas at Arlington, will present a program of works by J.S. Bach, Pierre Sancan and Joseph Schwantner. Performing with Frisof will be pianist Daniel Pesca.

Frisof received her doctorate from the University of Michigan and also studied at The Juilliard School and the Eastman School of Music. She was a semifinalist in the 2009 Kobe International Flute Competition and the second prizewinner of the National Flute Association's Young Artist Competition and the Heida Hermanns International Woodwind Competition.

She has attended the Verbier, Tanglewood and Aspen Music Festivals and substituted with the New York Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony and Boston Symphony.
