NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Students enrolled in private and group lessons offered by the Music Preparatory Division of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will perform in a series of end-of-the-semester recitals in mid-December.

Three separate events will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11, in the Music Recital Hall, Room 160 of the Wright Music Building, 2210 Alumni Drive. At 2:30 p.m., piano students of Stephen Adams and Missy Leppert will perform, and at 4 p.m., Melissa Nabb's violin and viola students will play.

The 6 p.m. recital on Dec. 11 will feature students of SFA student teachers: Monica Hambrick and Michelle Schwartz (piano), Fulton Miller (percussion), Daniel Brock (trumpet), Ben Smith (classical guitar) and Michaela Barlett (flute). Piano student of Dr. Mario Ajero will also perform.

At 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, the Pineywoods Youth Orchestra will present its concert in Cole Concert Hall. Dr. Evgeni Raychev serves as the group's director, and graduate student Richard Leppert serves as the assistant.

Two recitals will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15. String students of Dr. Jennifer Dalmas, Dr. Evgeni Rachev and Eric Fisher will perform in the Music Recital Hall. The SFA Children's Chorus and Junior Chorale, directed by Nicole Stewart and her assistant Marissa Maddoux, will perform in Cole Concert Hall.

Three recitals will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17. Suzuki violin students of Brenda Josephsen will perform at 11 a.m. in Cole Concert Hall, piano students of Linda Parr will play at 1 p.m. in the Music Recital Hall, and Dr. Ping-Ting Lan's piano students will perform at 2 p.m. in Cole Concert Hall.

Mary Cooper's piano students will give their recital at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, in Cole Concert Hall.

All of the recitals are free and open to the public.
