NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen Greak of Lufkin, Stephen F. Austin State University alumnus and business development director at 300 Mile Investments Ltd., was the recipient of the Nancy C. Speck Development Award presented at the 25th annual SFA Gala Dec. 14.

Greak is a member of the SFA Alumni Foundation Board of Directors and a lifetime member of the SFA Alumni Association. He is an avid supporter of the SFA golf team and the Gerald W. Schlief School of Accountancy. In 1992, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from SFA where he majored in accounting.

"Mr. Greak's most notable contributions have come in the form of financial support and volunteer efforts toward cancer research conducted by SFA's National Center for Pharmaceutical Crops, which is housed in the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture," said Jill Still, SFA vice president for university advancement.

"He has set a very high standard of support at SFA, providing a model of alumni giving for others to follow, and he is most deserving of this special recognition," she said.

The Nancy Speck Award was established in 2009 to recognize dedicated volunteers, students or faculty and staff members who have assisted in advancing the university's mission through development methods. Speck served as vice president for university advancement at SFA and was a faculty member in the Nelson Rusche College of Business.
