The Stephen F. Austin State University STEM Research and Learning Center will host the iMAS Unleashed Academy for middle school students June 24-27.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Research and Learning Center will host the iMAS Unleashed Academy for area middle school students June 24-27.

This academy is open to academically advanced science and math students who will be entering the 8th or 9th grade in the fall. The goal of the iMAS (Investigations in Math and Science) program is to challenge students mathematically and scientifically through real-life, interactive, hands-on activities and to expose them to available careers in the STEM disciplines.

Participating students will experience three mornings of intensive, real-life investigations in the areas of forensics, robotics and medicine. The academy also includes one day of exploration in aeronautics at the NASA Space Center in Houston.
