NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present the SFA Trombone Choir in concert at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in Cole Concert Hall in the Wright Music Building on the SFA campus.

The performance will feature music spanning 500 years, according to Deb Scott, associate professor of trombone at SFA and director of the choir.

Among the works performed will be "Nunc Dimittis" by Giovanni Gabrielli, composed in the 16th century and written for 14 trombones, and "Under the Double Eagle," by Josef Wagner, which was arranged for the trombone choir by Michael Swann, SFA senior music major from Plano.

"The concert will close with the trombone choir joined by a jazz rhythm section performing two popular jazz standards, 'On the Street Where You Live' and 'Here's that Rainy Day,'" Scott said.
