Jordan Cunningham, SFA Gardens’ greenhouse technician, will be the guest speaker for Stephen F. Austin State University’s SFA Gardens’ monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series, slated for 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, in the Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center.


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Stephen F. Austin State University’s SFA Gardens will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, in the Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, located at 2900 Raguet St.
 
Jordan Cunningham, greenhouse technician for SFA Gardens, will present “The Life and Times of a Nursery Worker: Propagation, Production and Morale.” She will explain the process in which plants are propagated and produced for the two annual garden sales held at the PNPC.
 
Cunningham graduated in May 2015 from SFA with a bachelor’s degree in horticulture before continuing her educational experience as a horticulture intern at Moore Farms Botanical Garden in Lake City, South Carolina. She began her career as a garden supervisor for the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Society in fall 2015 and joined the SFA Gardens team in 2016.
 
The Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series is held the second Thursday of each month and includes a rare plant raffle after the program. The lecture is free and open to the public, but donations to the Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series fund are always appreciated.
 
Parking is available at the PNPC and Raguet Elementary School, located at 2428 Raguet St.
