Homecoming children of the court

Robert Kubacak and Avery Turner, both of Nacogdoches, will serve as children of the court during Stephen F. Austin State University’s 2022 Homecoming celebrations this weekend. 


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Robert Kubacak and Avery Turner, both of Nacogdoches, will serve as children of the court during Stephen F. Austin State University’s 2022 Homecoming celebrations this weekend.

Robert is the 6-year-old son of Tony Kubacak and Sasha Kubacak ’08. Avery is the 9-year-old daughter of Trey Turner ’98 and ’02 and Lindsey Turner ’04 and ’07.

Robert is a kindergartener at Christ Episcopal School and enjoys art, animals and karate. He wants to be a pilot when he grows up. Avery attended the Early Childhood Laboratory and is currently in fourth grade at the SFA Charter School. She enjoys playing with her sisters and friends, going to church, and attending SFA basketball games.

Robert and Avery will ride in the Homecoming parade Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Later, they will participate in the crowning of the SFA Homecoming queen during halftime of the football game between SFA and Utah Tech University, which begins at 2 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium.
