Dr. Justin Scheiner, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service viticulturist and associate professor at Texas A&M University, will present “Making Mayhem with Muscadine Madness” at SFA Gardens’ Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center. 


NACOGDCOHES, Texas — Stephen F. Austin State University’s SFA Gardens will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, located at 2900 Raguet St.

Dr. Justin Scheiner, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service viticulturist and associate professor at Texas A&M University, will present “Making Mayhem with Muscadine Madness.”

Scheiner’s responsibilities include educational programming and technical support for the Texas grape and wine industry. His research program focuses on best management practices for vineyards, which includes improving fruit and wine quality, rootstocks and new grape varieties, cover crops and soil health, and irrigation management. He is a member of the graduate faculty at Texas A&M University and teaches courses in the Department of Horticultural Sciences.

The Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series is held the second Thursday of each month and includes a rare plant raffle after the program. The lecture is free and open to the public, but donations to the lecture series fund are always appreciated.
