Eileen Ivers returns to SFA with ‘Joyful Christmas’

Stephen F. Austin State University’s Micky Elliott College of Fine Arts will welcome Grammy-winning fiddler Eileen Ivers back to campus for her holiday performance, “Joyful Christmas,” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in Turner Auditorium in the Griffith Fine Arts Building.


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– Stephen F. Austin State University’s Micky Elliott College of Fine Arts will welcome Grammy-winning fiddler Eileen Ivers back to campus for her holiday performance, “Joyful Christmas,” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in Turner Auditorium in the Griffith Fine Arts Building.

Ivers, known worldwide for her innovative blend of Irish and American musical traditions, presents an evening filled with storytelling, traditional melodies and lively seasonal favorites. Part of SFA’s touring University Series, “Joyful Christmas” highlights her signature warmth and artistry, inviting audiences into a spirited celebration of the season.

“We are honored to welcome Eileen Ivers back to the University Series,” said Dr. Gary Wurtz, dean of the Micky Elliott College of Fine Arts. “Her performance reflects the joy of the season, and we hope you will join us for this holiday celebration.”

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at sfasu.edu/boxoffice. Discounts are available for seniors, students, children and SFA faculty and staff.

Patrons attending “Joyful Christmas” are encouraged to bring donations for the college’s holiday food drive benefiting the Lumberjack Pantry. Items, including nonperishable food, toothpaste and toothbrushes, and baby-related products, may be dropped off on the second floor of the Griffith Fine Arts Building leading up to Dec. 9 or brought to the performance the night of the event.
