Volunteers collected items in good, usable condition that could be offered to local community residents and students returning in the fall.

Stephen F. Austin State University partnered with nonprofit Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful and Open Door Care Ministries, a ministry from Fredonia Hill Baptist Church, to collect hundreds of usable items discarded by students that Nacogdoches residents can repurpose for their homes. From May 6 through 9, teams of volunteers collected items in good, usable condition from SFA students who were moving out, and KNB filled its trailer five times with items that may have otherwise gone to the landfill. KNB also helped students looking for specific items for their residence hall or apartment for the next semester. All other items were taken to Open Door Care Ministries for Nacogdoches residents in need.
