Marvin Mayer's Plain Truths About Smith County

Over the next four decades, he worked in a variety of banking, bank regulation, and financial management positions moving from New Orleans to Shreveport, to Baton Rouge, to Kansas City, to Hartford (CT) and finally to Dallas. He retired to Tyler, TX in 2007. Since retiring, he has devoted his time to volunteer activities and to writing books for children.
The Mayers are active members of Marvin United Methodist Church. They have two granddaughters, one great grandson, and one great granddaughter.
