Employment Opportunities

The Campus Recreation team is looking for new student staff members every semester! Our student staff members have the opportunity to gain job and leadership skills and develop professionally.

Student Positions

There are numerous positions available within Facilities and Member Services, Fitness and Wellness, Aquatics and Safety, Administration, Outdoor Pursuits, Competitive Sports, Promotions and Camps. Explore our position descriptions to find your fit.

Applying for a position

Every position begins with our general application form. Download additional paperwork if you’re applying for a position within Outdoor Pursuits or as a Group AXE instructor within Fitness and Wellness.

Attend our job fair

A job fair is held twice a year from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Campus Rec meeting room as we begin hiring for the upcoming semester.

Job fair dates for the 2019-20 academic school year:

  • Oct. 1 and 2
  • March 3 and 4

Bring your résumé, dress professionally and be ready for an on-site interview!

Internship/Practicum

Need internship or practicum experience?

Take the first step into your career. Gain professional, hands-on experience through a variety of opportunities. You can develop marketing strategies for programs, services and activities; exchange ideas with professionals and students; participate in projects designed to help improve and grow the SFA community; take part in professional meetings and committees; and formally evaluate and assess programs, events and services.

To be a candidate for an internship or practicum with Campus Rec, you must:

  • have at least 30 credit hours and be in good academic standing with the university
  • be gaining academic credit for internship/practicum hours
  • have approval from the appropriate academic department
  • complete and submit an internship/practicum application (including supplemental questions), résumé and cover letter
  • and interview with the Campus Rec internship/practicum committee.

Internship/practicum responsibilities and duties will be completed in the Student Recreation Center, Campus Rec-managed facilities and across campus as applicable.

Graduate Assistantships

Are you interested in becoming a Campus Rec professional? We offer five graduate assistant positions throughout our programs. Explore the various opportunities:

Family Hours

Friday at 5 p.m. through Sunday at 8 p.m.

Administration Office

Monday and Tuesday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wednesday: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Thursday and Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: Closed

Student Recreation Center

Monday through Thursday: 6 a.m. - Midnight
Friday: 6 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Sunday: Noon - Midnight
