Starting September 1, 2016 our scholarship application for the 2017-2018 academic year will be available. The deadline for submission will be February 1, 2017 and incomplete applications will not be considered.
Other sources of aid include the State and Federal Government. Both have several grants available each year which are based on academic progress and financial need. In order to be considered for any of their programs, loans, etc, a “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” must be completed and eligibility met. The application for the 2017-2018 year is available on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov beginning October 1, 2016.

SFA offers a number of scholarships each academic year through a variety of departments and offices on campus. Some are based on merit while others are need-based. Scholarships requiring auditions or tryouts are also available. Criteria that may be used to determine recipients include class rank, high school or college GPA, ACT/SAT scores, leadership activities, and performance. Scholarship amounts range from $100 to $8,000. Some are renewable based upon academic performance, while others are one-time awards. To apply for SFA scholarships, please log in via your mySFA account. The application is located under both the Future Lumberjacks and Billing Tab, click on SFA Scholarship Application to view the electronic form. The completed application must be submitted no later than February 1st.
We encourage any student who is fortunate enough to receive a scholarship to write a note of appreciation to the donor. We have provided the document below to help you write a professional and considerate thank you note.
