Last week of Summer Enrollment and to verify changes! [published: July 12, 2018]

Reminder to all SFA Employees - next week (July 15 - 21) is the last week for you to make changes to your health and other benefits during Summer Enrollment. You can make changes by going online to ERS at http://www.ers.texas.gov/ and clicking on Benefits Enrollment. If you have difficulty navigating the site, please contact the HR Department.

It is very important that you keep the confirmation statement that ERS sends to you! Confirmation statements are sent either to your email address on file with ERS. If not email address is listed, ERS will send the confirmation by mail.

This is your documentation that ERS confirmed the change request and your opportunity to review what changes were made. If you do not receive a confirmation statement, this means that an error occurred and the change was not completed. If this happens, you will need to go back into the ERS system and make the change again and 'submit' the request. You should then receive the confirmation statement of the change.

Once you receive a confirmation statement, review it thoroughly. If a mistake has been made, you can make corrections by logging in to your ERS OnLine account and clicking on Benefits Enrollment. ERS will only allow corrections until the end of July. Mistakes discovered after September 1st, will be subject to a review of your confirmation statement indicating the changes made during summer enrollment and must be made before October 15, 2018.

Attend an to learn more about changes coming in Plan Year 2019 and how to make benefit election changes online. If you can't attend an on-campus session, ERS is offering a number of webinars online.

Benefits Summer Enrollment guides are now available on the Human Resources website. Get a head start on reviewing your benefit election options. Expect to receive your Personal Benefits Enrollment Statement from ERS soon (mailed to your home address).

Your Personal Benefits Enrollment Statement from ERS

Each year, ERS mails a Summer Enrollment packet to participants eligible for the Texas Employees Group Benefits Program (GBP). The packet includes a Personal Benefits Enrollment Statement (PBES) listing current GBP benefits and other enrollment options. The PBES is generated from information in ERS OnLine as of June 1 at 7 a.m. CT. As you know, Medicare eligible retirees will have their enrollment in the fall.

This year, the Participant Information Section of the PBES will display coverage information for the participant and up to two dependents. Participants can log in to their ERS OnLine account to find information about other covered dependents.

ERS will start mailing personal benefits enrollment statements on June 12th. Please confirm your permanent address is correct to ensure you receive your benefits statement.

Benefits Summer Enrollment dates are July 9 - July 21

Benefits summer enrollment is fast approaching. This year, SFA employees can make benefit election changes between July 9th and July 21st.

In order to ensure you receive Summer Enrollment communications from ERS, please take a moment to confirm your address in mySFA and update if needed (My Contact Info à Update Address & Phone).
