Greetings! Family Weekend, one of the largest events on campus, brings families to campus each fall to take part in their student’s experiences. Brought to you by Residence Life, Orientation Programs and the office of Student Affairs Programs, the event includes a variety of fun activities for students and their families to do together, such as tours, gatherings, athletic games, community fair and much more.
Can I register for Family Weekend online?
Yes, online registration for Family Weekend is available online and will become available in August 2020.
When is the last day to register?
Online registration will close the week prior to Family Weekend. On-site registration will be available in the Baker Pattillo Student Center.
What's included in registration?
Registration allows families to attend all of the sponsored events unless labeled "extra cost at event". Registration also includes a tote, up to four event passes and up to four pens. The registrant must enter the total number of people in their party.
Do I have to buy a package in order to get the merchandise?
No, you can pick and choose what you would like to purchase. However, the packages provide the best deals.
Can I order more items along with my package(s)?
If you would like to purchase more merchandise (tumblers, shirts and pompoms) once you arrive on campus, a shop will be open in the registration area, located in the Baker Pattillo Student Center. However, keep in mind merchandise sales are on a first-come, first-served basis. Merchandise sold on the day of Family Weekend can be paid for with cash or checks only.
I missed the deadline. Can I still attend?
Sure! You can still register and attend Family Weekend. Keep in mind that merchandise sold will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so we advise you purchase everything you will want beforehand. Merchandise sold at Family Weekend can be paid for with cash and checks only.
Who do I contact if I need a refund?
Refunds only will be given to families who face an emergency that causes them to miss Family Weekend. Families needing a refund should contact Carla Chumley, Residence Life staff services supervisor, at 936.468.2333, or email her at email@example.com.
When will I receive a confirmation email?
Allow up to four business days for your order to be processed. Be sure to check that our email did not go to your junk/spam folder. After four business days, if you still have not received a confirmation email, contact Carla Chumley, Residence Life staff services supervisor, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What does "card not present-processed" mean?
Your order was placed online, so we did not physically swipe your credit card. As long as you receive a confirmation email, your order has been accepted and will be ready for pick-up at check in.
Where can family stay?
In Nacogdoches, you will find well-known budget-friendly hotels, as well as independently owned, uniquely Nacogdoches standouts. Or, if you prefer a bed-and-breakfast, whether you are looking for cozy or luxurious, you are in luck. The “oldest town in Texas” offers a fabulous variety of options to satisfy almost every need. Check out the Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau website for complete information. (Because our residence halls are filled with current students, we do not have on-campus housing options for family.)
Where can I park?
Families can park in resident and faculty/staff parking. Families, however, may NOT park in hall director parking, service truck parking or anywhere authorized for emergency vehicles.
Can my student pick up my order?
As long as your student knows the name in which you placed your order, your student may pick up your order. The student's name must be on the registration form or emailed to our coordinator at FamilyWeekend@sfasu.edu.
