The purpose of SFA's Weeks of Welcome is to welcome new students to campus and introduce them to campus life. For returning students, WoW is a way to become involved and interact with students and campus organizations.

Friday, Aug. 25

Open Mic Night
7 to 10 p.m. at the Baptist Student Ministry
   Come get some free tacos and iced coffee while you enjoy live music on our front porch.

Saturday, Aug. 26

All Faith BBQ
Noon at Surfin' Steve
    Eat delicious food while meeting campus ministries and local churches.

After Dark
8 p.m. to midnight in the Baker Pattillo Student Center
    After dark, we come alive! Take a break from move-in and come enjoy your first late-night event of the semester. We will be taking over the entire first and second floor of the student center with free food, live DJ, roller skating, silent disco, trap/house karaoke, casino, bingo, photo booth, bingo, yard games, board games and more. Prizes are available for winners of games. Come enjoy the largest After Dark we've seen yet!

Sunday, Aug. 27

SFA Soccer vs. Louisiana Lafayette
1 p.m. at the SFA Soccer Field
    Show off your Ladyjack pride by attending the SFA game. Be sure to wear purple!

Welcome Walks
4 to 6 p.m. at Surfin' Steve
    Jack Walkers will be ready to direct students to where their classes will be located during the first week of school.

Monday, Aug. 28

Donuts and Directions
7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Surfin' Steve
  Free donuts and assisting students with directions. Students can also set up one-on-one appointments with the Academic Assistance and Resource Center (AARC).

First Day of School Pictures

    Stop by the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) and Office of Student Engagement's photo booth!

Competitive Sports Info Sessions
4 to 6 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center, room 113
    Interested in joining or learning about our sport club and intramural programs at campus rec? Attend either of these two info sessions to learn more about what we have planned this fall and win some free swag. Info sessions will begin at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m..

WOW Kick-Off Event (featuring Playfair)

    Come meet new friends and participate in the ultimate icebreaker experience! Free #WoWtennial shirts for the first 150 students who attend!

Take on the SFA ROTC's Obstacle Course
11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kile G. West Obstacle Course near the Student Recreation Center
    Individuals will have the opportunity to try out our obstacles at their own pace, earn SWAG and learn about our program and scholarship opportunities.

    Pop by the CCPD table at the Baker Pattillo Student Center Plaza to learn about the free services for students and get a free ice pop! (In case of bad weather, look for us inside the Student Center in the Spirit Lounge.)

Meet the Makerspace
1 to 4 p.m. at the SFA Makerspace (Steen Library, first floor)
    Come paint a small flower pot to brighten up your dorm room!

Board Games
3 to 5 p.m. at the Veteran's Resource Center
    Bring your competitive side and join us for board games in the Veterans Resource Center. Please note that you do not need to be a Veteran or military connected to attend.

Bleed Purple Blood Drive

Are you Stronger than a Soldier?
1 to 3 p.m.at Surfin' Steve
    The event will be a physical fitness competition with four stations, those being a deadlift station, a pull-up station, a pushup station and a dead hang station. There will be eight winners, accounting for a male and female winner at each station. Upon winning they will receive a certificate from the battalion as well as a gift card. Just by competing in the competition you will also receive swag.

Kayak Trip with the Wesley Foundation

    SAA Cookout is back! Come enjoy some fun in the sun at the pool with burgers, hotdogs and drinks. We will have yard games going while we live stream the first football game of the season as our Lumberjacks take on the Troy University Trojans. Bring your lumberjack pride and support our team to victory!

    You know the vibes! Our award-winning event is back celebrating you, welcome back to campus! We want to bring you the best of SFA's past 100 years and launch towards the next 100 with live entertainment, zip line, mechanical bull, escape room, caricatures, mini golf, yard games and more! Everything is free and the first 500 students are guaranteed a t-shirt. We will see you at the front of the check-in line!

First-Year Tailgate
4:30 p.m. at the Ag Pond
    Come out and have a fun time with SFA Student Life while preparing to cheer on the Lumberjacks at the first home football game of the season. Free pizza will be provided.

Jacks Charge
5:37 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium, student section
    Follow the Lumberjack football team onto the field before the game and cheer SFA to victory in the student section. First 100 students will receive a Jacks Charge t-shirt.

SFA Football vs. Alcorn State
6 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium
    Show your Lumberjack spirit for the first home football game. Make sure to wear purple and bring your axe handle!
