Welcome to SFA!
We are so excited you have chosen to be Lumberjack! All Incoming transfer students are encouraged to participate in one of our AXEcepted Days as your first step to connecting to SFA! Guests are welcome to attend.
Attending this New Student Orientation allows you to:
- learn more about your academic major and minor
- meet your academic dean, academic advisor, faculty and administration
- meet new and current students and learn from others' experiences
- and be more prepared for your first day, first year and college experience.
Another orientation opportunity for transfer students that takes place the week before fall classes begin is Lumberjack Life.
Lumberjack Life is an extended orientation program focused on getting to know campus resources and making peer connections. Lumberjack Life is optional for transfer students.
- Move-In Dates: August 20-21, 2025
- Lumberjack Life Dates: August 22-23, 2025
- Move-in to your residence hall.
- Get to know campus.
- Participate in campus traditions.
- Attend exclusive events.
- Receive your very first axe handle.
Note: Transfer students who choose to not attend are responsible for contacting their respective academic departments for times and dates that academic advisors are available.
Registration Deadlines
To register:
Register through the orientation page in mySFA. After registering, you will receive a confirmation notice through your SFA email account. Additional details regarding Orientation will be emailed, so check your student email regularly.
Guest registration
When your student registers for Lumberjack Orientation, they will be given the opportunity to complete your registration as well. This helps ensure a smooth registration process for the proper session.
Registering at a later date?
Visit our Transfer Lumberjack Orientation - guest registration page to check the availability for your student's session and reserve your spot. Session registration will close one week prior to the session or once the session reaches capacity, whichever occurs first.
