Meal plan requirements

If you live on campus, you’ll be required to buy a meal plan. Off-campus students have the option of purchasing a commuter or on-campus meal plan. Plans are available for fall, spring and summer semesters.

How meal plans work

Your meal plan comes with two features: meal swipes and Dining Dollars (DD). You can access your meal swipes and Dining Dollars through your SFA ID card.

Meal swipes

Meal swipes are a certain amount of meals you can eat at either dining hall on campus. There are two dining halls on campus. The Student Center Dining Hall (SC) is located on the first floor of the Baker Pattillo Student Center. The East College Dining Hall (EC) is located across from Steen Hall on East College Street.

When you buy a meal plan, you’re pre-paying for the meals you’ll eat during one semester. Every time one of our dining cashiers swipes your dining card, one meal is deducted from your total.

Dining Dollars

Your plan will also include Dining Dollars (DD). You can use DD to eat at any on-campus retail location, such as Chick-fil-A or Starbucks. You can add additional DD to your plan at any time throughout the semester via your mySFA account. You can purchase additional DD in increments of $25 or $100. For every $100 you purchase in additional DD, you get $10 DD free!

Your Dining Dollars roll over from fall to spring semesters. Dining Dollars do not roll over from spring to summer semesters or from summer to fall semesters.

You can check your meal swipe and Dining Dollar balance online via your mySFA account. Dining information is available under the “Campus Life” tab.

7 Day 14

If you plan to eat an average of 2 meals per day in either dining hall, this may be a good option for you. The plan includes:

  • 14 meal swipes per week
  • $125 Dining Dollars to use throughout the semester

Each week you get a new set of 14 meal swipes; they do not roll over from week to week.

7 Day 14 Premium

This is the default meal plan for on-campus students. If you would like a weekly meal plan structure with the option to dine more frequently at on-campus retail locations, this may be a good option for you. The plan includes:

  • 14 meal swipes per week
  • $350 Dining Dollars to use throughout the semester

Each week you get a new set of 14 meal swipes; they do not roll over from week to week.

All Access

If you plan to eat most or all of your meals on campus, this may be a good option for you. The plan includes:

  • Unlimited meal swipes per week
  • $50 Dining Dollars to use throughout the semester

Note that there is a 30-minute waiting period between meal swipes.

All Access Premium

If you plan to eat most or all of your meals on campus with the option to dine more frequently at on-campus retail locations, this may be a good option for you. The plan includes:

  • Unlimited meal swipes per week
  • $275 Dining Dollars to use throughout the semester

Note that there is a 30-minute waiting period between meal swipes.

Off-campus commuter meal plans

You don’t have to live on campus to dine on campus. These scaled-down versions of our on-campus meal plans give our commuting Lumberjacks access to meals in our dining halls, plus Dining Dollars to spend at places like Starbucks or Chick-fil-A.

7 Day 5

If you plan to eat an average of 5 meals per week in either dining hall, this may be a good option for you. The plan includes:

  • 5 meal swipes per week
  • $100 Dining Dollars to use throughout the semester

Each week you get a new set of 5 meal swipes; they do not roll over from week to week.

50 Block

If you plan to eat an average of 2-3 meals per week in either dining hall, this may be a good option for you. The plan includes:

  • 50 meal swipes per semester
  • $100 Dining Dollars to use throughout the semester

When you choose this plan, your meal swipes roll over from week to week until the end of the semester.

  • 25 meal swipes per semester
  • $100 Dining Dollars to use throughout the semester

$325 All Dining Dollars Plan

The best value if you are on campus during 2-3 meal periods a week and plan to enjoy dining in on-campus food courts such as Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, etc. The plan includes:

  • $325 Dining Dollars to use throughout the semester

On-campus resident summer meal plans

Summer 7 Day 14

The Summer 7 Day 14 plan gives you 14 meal swipes to use each week at the EC Dining Hall. The Summer 7 Day 14 plan comes with $75 Dining Dollars to use at retail locations open per summer semester.

Summer 7 Day 20

The Summer 7 Day 20 plan gives you 20 meal swipes to use each week at the EC Dining Hall. The Summer 7 Day 20 plan comes with $50 Dining Dollars to use at retail locations open per summer semester.

Off-campus commuter summer meal plans

Summer Block 25

The Summer Block 25 plan can only be purchased by students living off campus during the summer. The Summer Block 25 plan gives you 25 meal swipes to use per semester at the EC Dining Hall. The Summer Block 25 plan comes with $100 Dining Dollars to use at retail locations open per summer semester.

Summer Block 50

The Summer Block 50 plan can only be purchased by students living off campus during the summer. The Summer Block 50 plan gives you 50 meal swipes to use per semester at the EC Dining Hall. The Summer Block 50 plan comes with $50 Dining Dollars to use at retail locations open per summer semester.

Summer $325 All Dining Dollars

Includes $325 Dining Dollars to use at all on-campus retail locations open during summer I and summer II.

Faculty & staff meal plan

Faculty & Staff Block 45

The 45 block allows you 45 meal swipes into either dining hall throughout the semester. These meal swipes roll over from week to week until the end of summer II session. You can purchase this plan multiple times throughout the semester. Because this plan is a block meal plan, you can swipe your card for friends & family.

How to purchase a meal plan

You can sign up for a meal plan, or change your current meal plan, in a few easy steps:

  • Log in to mySFA.
  • Click the “Campus Life” tab.
  • Go to “Other Information.”
  • Click “Meal Plans – Sign Up or Change.”

After you make your selection, the cost of your meal plan will be added to your SFA eBill.

How to reload your Dining Dollars

  • Log in to mySFA.
  • Click the “Campus Life” tab.
  • Go to “Other Information.”
  • Click “Purchase Additional Dining Dollars.”

After your payment is processed, your Dining Dollars will be loaded onto your SFA ID card.
