Orientation Dates

Fall Lumberjack Orientation 2018

Fall Lumberjack Orientation will be offered on Friday, August 24, 2018 for incoming students who will be entering SFA during the Fall 2018 semester and did not have the opportunity to attend a session during June or July. The registration fee for Fall Lumberjack Orientation is $10, which covers students' Purple Haze t-shirt and materials. The $10 registration fee will be charged to your SFA E-bill.

There is no additional fee for parents and family members attending Fall Lumberjack Orientation.

Check-in will be from 8:30 - 9 a.m. on the Baker Pattillo Student Center second floor, outside of the Tiered Meeting Room.

Registration for Fall Lumberjack Orientation is now available. Once registered, detailed information will be emailed to your Jacks account. For additional information, contact the Orientation Programs office at 936.468.6641.

2018 Lumberjack Orientations

2018 Transfer Lumberjack Orientations

Orientation for transfer students who are entering for either the Summer or Fall 2017 semesters. Please refer to the Incoming Transfer page on this site for further details.

Session 1: November 17, 2017

Session 2: April 27, 2018 **SESSION FULL**

Session 3: July 13, 2018 **SESSION FULL**

Session 4: August 3, 2018

These Orientation Sessions last only one day. These dates are for transfer students ONLY. All students graduating from high school during the 2017-2018 school year should attend a Lumberjack Orientation for freshmen.

Summer I & II Orientation 2018

Summer Orientation sessions are for students who are planning to take summer school classes at SFA during the summer I and/or summer II semesters. The registration fee is $10, which covers students' Purple Haze t-shirt and check-in materials. The $10 registration fee will be charged to your SFA E-bill. Student attending will be advised and register for summer classes only.

Please note: If you are a first-time first-year student (graduating high school during the 2017-2018 academic year) attending a summer semester session will not take the place of a Lumberjack Orientation in order to register for Fall 2018 classes.


Students attending Summer II Orientation with the Jacks PASS program are NOT required to attend a Lumberjack Orientation session.

Summer I session - May 31, Baker Pattillo Student Center second floor, check-in is at 12:30 p.m., Orientation will begin at 1 p.m.

Summer II session - July 9, Baker Pattillo Student Center second floor, check-in is at 12:30 p.m., Orientation will begin at 1 p.m.
