Career Preparation

SFA Office of Career Services

The Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) offers a wealth of information on developing and perfecting a resume. The process of creating a resume should start in a student's first year, rather than their last, to include an accurate account of the student's experience during college. If students already have a current resume, they can submit it to CCPD for evaluation and receive critical feedback on ways to secure an interview.

InterviewStream

The College of Forestry and Agriculture has partnered with CCPD to create virtual mock interviews, using the InterviewStream program, for students in forestry, environmental science and spatial science.

Students must create a Jobs4Jacks/Handshake account through Career Services in order to access the software.

Career Exploration

Students who are unsure of their future career path are highly encouraged to work with Career Services to utilize their Career Exploration tools. ATCOFA academic advisors and faculty can also assist with these important decisions.

Career Preparation

Rather than waiting until senior year to begin preparing for job searches, interviews, and future careers, our students are strongly encouraged to begin planning for this process as soon as they start classes at SFA. The SFA Career Services Office offers excellent programs and services for students; however, advisors and faculty within the College of Forestry and Agriculture are equipped to offer industry-specific advice and guidance.
