The on-campus Lumberjack life
Living on campus gives you the best college experience, whether you’re a first-semester freshman or a senior. Residence hall life includes services and meal plans that make day-to-day life easy, so you can focus on academics and friendships.
Submitting a work request
Need repairs? We’re here to help you – just submit a work request online or visit your hall’s front desk. Call 936.468.6623 for high-priority situations, such as flooding, fire, tripped breakers, plumbing stoppages, issues with card readers, HVAC repairs or light bulb replacement.
Roommate or residence hall change request
Tried everything and just can’t get along? Have you decided you want to live with another friend? If so, talk to your community assistant to help mediate the problem or facilitate a room change. Transfers to different buildings occur on facility transfer days. Information regarding these days and instructions are sent to your mySFA email account.
Extending your stay
Want to stay on campus a little longer? We don’t blame you. Lumberjacks who can’t make it home over a long holiday, or need to stay in town because of your job, can request an extended stay through their mySFA account (if space is available).
Staying over the holidays
Your residence hall can be your home for the holidays – just make the request through your mySFA account by clicking on the Break Housing Request link (posted one to two weeks prior to semester holidays). Once your request is confirmed, the additional charges will be posted to your student account.
Staying another year
Loved your residence hall? If you’re an upperclassman, feel free to stay there next year, too. Renewing your housing contract in April will automatically renew the same room. If you want to switch, pick a new room and/or residence hall on your designated day.
Anyone living in a first-year residence hall will need to switch to a new residence hall for the following year. Renew your housing contract in April, then pick a new room in an upperclass residence hall on your designated day.
