Student Resources

Getting involved

Explore careers. Make friends. Enter contests and team up with your fellow Lumberjacks for an online gaming session. SFA’s computer science department is home to two active student organizations that can help you make friends, explore career options and make the most of your college experience.

For more information about computer science clubs and organizations, you can contact your faculty advisor or visit our “AXES” database of clubs and organizations to find the best fit for your interests.

Computer Science Club

Want to meet Lumberjacks who share your interest in computers and information technology? Join SFA’s Computer Science Club. Learn about career paths, meet people who work in the computer science field and participate in fun social events like pizza parties, movie nights, online gaming sessions and more.

Honor Societies

Juniors, seniors and grad students who meet the GPA and coursework admission requirements can join Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the International Honor Society in Computer Science. Members of Upsilon Pi Epsilon can participate in programming contests, network with other students and professionals in computer science and apply for unique scholarships.
