Are You Driven?
At SFA, our students’ curiosity drives their interest and engagement in research and creative discovery in a variety of individual disciplines — and sometimes across more than one discipline. The Undergraduate Research/Creative Discovery Advisory Committee defines research and creative discovery as "any faculty-mentored project completed by undergraduates at SFA using the scholarly/creative process with techniques of an academic discipline to produce fuller knowledge, understanding or applications to the discipline."
In keeping with SFA’s strategic plan for transformative learning, many courses offer opportunities for faculty-mentored and collaborative student-faculty research and creative discovery. Other courses offer independent research and creative discovery with faculty mentors both on- and off-campus during the academic year. You also can pursue these opportunities with a faculty mentor outside of class.
