NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Faculty members of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will be the featured performers during the annual Pi Kappa Lambda Music Faculty Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.

"This concert showcases the talents of our diverse faculty," said Deborah Dalton, SFA associate professor of voice and president of the local chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda, the national music honor society.

SFA Gardens to host plant propagation workshop


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - SFA Gardens at Stephen F. Austin State University will host a plant propagation workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 13, in the Ina Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will open this season's Cole Performing Arts Series with a guest flute performance by Dr. Mariana Gariazzo at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.

SFA Gardens Lecture Series to feature plant sale preview


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - SFA Gardens at Stephen F. Austin State University will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in the Ina Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St. in Nacogdoches.

SFA Gardens horticulturists Dawn Stover and Greg Grant will present "A Plant Preview of the Upcoming Fabulous Fall Festival Plant Sale." Their combined program will present information and images of many of the new, popular and more unusual plants available at the upcoming sale.

SFA to present Pi Kappa Lambda scholarship concert


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will present the Pi Kappa Lambda Annual Faculty Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in Cole Concert Hall in the Wright Music Building on the SFA campus.

The concert will feature faculty from all areas of the SFA School of Music in an extravaganza fundraiser. All proceeds benefit the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, which presents a scholarship each year to the sophomore music major with the highest grade point average.

SFA Department of Mathematics to host ETMTC in 2014-2015

The Stephen F. Austin State University Department of Mathematics will continue to host East Texas Math Teachers' Circle this academic year. ETMTC is an opportunity for middle and high school mathematics teachers to rediscover their love for mathematics by exploring problem solving with SFA mathematics faculty members.
