The Columbia Regional Geospatial Service Center has moved from its downtown location on Pecan Street to the third floor of the McKibben Education Building on the SFA campus.

The new facility provides more space, allowing for a larger training lab and expanded student work area.

"We are excited to be back on campus," PR Blackwell, Columbia Center director, said. "Our new location is a huge improvement in terms of space, connectivity and capacity, allowing us to better serve the region."

American Ballet Theatre II dancers perform one of the dances from "Swan Lake" as a part of its varied repertoire. The SFA College of Fine Arts will present the dance troupe at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the SFA campus.

The Stephen F. Austin State University Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden will host the annual Nacogdoches Azalea Trail symposium on March 13 in Room 110 of the Agriculture Building on Wilson Drive.

Noted Texas A&M horticulturist Dr. William C. Welch will be the featured speaker. Welch will share his enthusiasm for camellias and other heirloom plants in his lecture, "A Passion for Camellias."

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Karen Clarke, a member of the music faculty at Vanderbilt University, will present a guest violin recital at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus. The recital is free and open to the public.

The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present the Swingin' Axes and Swingin' Aces jazz bands in a joint concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 5, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.

Under the direction of Deb Scott, SFA assistant professor of music, the Swingin' Aces will perform Mark Taylor's "Tribute to Miles," which is a medley of famous jazz pieces by Miles Davis, including "So What," "All Blues," "Seven Steps to Heaven" and "Milestones."

Avocational archeologist Tom Middlebrook will present, "Raphael D'Ortolan, an African Creole on the El Camino Real de los Tejas," in a March 1 luncheon lecture at Stephen F. Austin State University.

Hosted by the Stone Fort Museum as the second in a series celebrating Black History Month, the lecture is co-sponsored by the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture and will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Temple Forestry Building, Room 117.
