NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Registrations for participation in the community-wide presentation of Georg Frideric Handel's "Messiah" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, are now being accepted through the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music. Registration deadline is Friday, Dec. 3.

The school has a long history of presenting Handel's masterpiece during December, said Dr. Tim King, SFA professor of music and director of choral activities. "We invite singers from around the area to join their voices with the SFA combined choirs and participate in this holiday tradition."

The recital is a part of the SFA School of Music's Cole Performing Arts Series and SFA's fifth annual Octubafest, an event held across U.S. university campuses that celebrates the tuba and euphonium as solo and chamber music instruments.
