We're so excited to welcome you to SFA, Lumberjack!
Lumberjack Orientation is a one-day, multi-session event specifically to get you ready for the upcoming semester and your life as a Lumberjack. It's required for first-year freshmen and encouraged for transfer students.
While you're attending Orientation, expect to:
- learn more about your academic program.
- meet your dean, advisor, faculty and staff members within your academic program.
- interact with other Lumberjacks.
- explore campus resources and prepare for life as a Lumberjack!
Before you register

Have you viewed the Becoming a Lumberjack checklist? Before you can register for Orientation, you must have the state-law-mandated documents on file.
Bringing family?
We offer two special alternative Orientation tracks to ensure parents, siblings and family members are getting the most out of their day. Explore Destination SFA and Guest Orientation as add on options to your registration.
Registration information
- Cost: $140 per Lumberjack
- Includes lunch and T-shirt.
- To register, log in to the Orientation page in your mySFA account as soon as you can to secure your preferred date.
After you register:
- Send in any remaining documents required by SFA offices.
- Meet with your academic advisor.
- Clear your registration holds.
- Submit a photo through mySFA for your campus ID.
