In-state Tuition

SFA Veterans Benefits

Certain Veterans, Active Duty members, Reservists, members of the guard, or dependents are eligible for an in-state tuition waiver per TEC 54.241.

  • Any student, Veteran or Dependent, using Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill
  • Any Veteran using Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill
  • All Active Duty members
  • Any reservist, or members of the guard who are drilling with a unit in Texas
  • Any dependent whose parent or spouse graduated from a Texas high school, or enlisted or commissioned in Texas but is out of Texas due to active duty orders

All federal benefit users are automatically given the waiver. For all others, please provide a copy of either your DD-214, your current orders, or your parent’s or spouse’s current orders.
