Business Analytics Certificate - Graduate

The Business Analytics graduate certificate features selected courses from our Master of Business Administration curriculum that help you develop the analytical skills you need to manage organizations successfully. The certificate program consists of 12 semester hours (four courses), which may be taken as part of the MBA program, another graduate degree or without completion of a graduate degree. You can complete these courses in as little as two semesters. The courses are taught face-to-face or via Zoom (synchronous) in the evenings, with one course offered as an asynchronous online course. Because this certificate is offered through a hybrid approach, you can complete it no matter where you live.

Plus, the courses in this certificate program complete one-third of the requirements for an MBA. To earn the MBA, you must apply to the MBA program and complete 36 credit hours.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for the following analysts will increase by these percentages between 2020 and 2030: 14% for management analysts, 25% for operational research analysts, 22% for market research analysts, and 6% for financial analysts.

Organizational Leadership Certificate - Graduate

The Organizational Leadership graduate certificate features selected courses from our MBA curriculum that help you develop the leadership and communication skills you need to manage organizations successfully. The certificate program consists of 12 semester hours (four courses), which may be taken as part of the MBA program, another graduate degree or without completion of a graduate degree. Education

ESL/Bilingual Supplemental Certification Prep - Graduate

This four-course online program is designed for K-12 teachers seeking a supplemental certificate for teaching children whose native language is not English or for teaching children whose native language is Spanish.

ESL vs. bilingual - The ESL-certified teacher has knowledge of methods and techniques for teaching that will aid English language learners in the content areas. Teachers provide the necessary modifications to the curriculum that ensure student success and provide a platform for developing a deep understanding of cultural realities that affect learning and the everyday life of the English language learner. Students pursuing the ESL certificate are not required to learn a foreign language. The bilingual-certified teacher can limit confusion encountered in an English-speaking environment by introducing concepts and clarifying information in the child's native language. Students pursuing the bilingual certificate must be proficient in Spanish.

Principal Certification Prep- Graduate

The online Principal Certification preparation program is nationally accredited through the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education​. It has a more than 90% pass rate on the TExES and maintains a rigorous curriculum taught completely by highly-qualified professors with successful leadership experience. A scholar-practitioner approach incorporates theory and practice-based learning that focuses on research-based leadership practices, curriculum and instructional leadership, data-driven decision-making, special programs, law, and school and community leadership.

Teaching College Psychology - Graduate

The certificate is designed for individuals who already have a master’s degree and who want to increase their marketability by becoming SACS-qualified to teach psychology courses in community colleges and/or dual credit courses.

Advanced Certificate in Professional Writing - Graduate

The Advanced Certificate in Professional Writing is a 12-hour online program designed to support and develop the professional and academic workplace writing needs of master's students and professionals who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Courses combine practical writing and document design skills with academic knowledge about composition across the disciplines so that students can both write professionally and think strategically about professional writing.

Certificate in Homeland Security - Graduate

Boost your career in a number of defense fields through this 12-hour certificate with courses covering such topics as interagency operations, cyberwarfare policy, organized crime, terrorism and more. If paired with completion of the Certificate in Intelligence Studies, students will graduate with a Master of Arts in national security.

Bolster your intelligence career through this 12-hour certificate, which covers such topics as global security, U.S. foreign policy, intelligence research and more. If paired with completion of the Certificate in Homeland Security, students will graduate with a Master of Arts in national security.

Nonprofit Management Certification - Graduate

Available to all majors, the graduate certificate in nonprofit management is a four-course, 12-credit-hour program that students will be able to finish in one year. The program is designed to fit skills needed by employers, such as leadership, fundraising skills, managing volunteer workforces and engaging with different groups and cultures.

Human Sciences

Executive Hospitality Supervision Certificate - Graduate

The executive hospitality supervision certificate provides the opportunity for management employees from the hospitality industry to participate in graduate-level education in order to further their career opportunities without full pursuance of a full graduate degree. This certificate is available to students who complete 15 hours of graduate-level courses in hospitality administration and achieve an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 for the 15 credit hours.

Family and Consumer Sciences certifications - Undergraduate

SFA is a participating member of the Family and Consumer Sciences Distance Education Alliance, offering online courses to prepare individuals for certification to teach family and consumer sciences.

Three teaching certifications are available:

  • FCS composite (certificate to teach all FCS high school courses)
  • FCS with hospitality, nutrition and food science (certified to teach food, nutrition and hospitality courses)
  • FCS with human development and family studies (certified to teach child development, parenting and family courses)

The undergraduate certificate in hospitality administration provides the opportunity for unit-level employees from the hospitality industry to participate in undergraduate-level education in order to further their career opportunities without full pursuance of an undergraduate degree. This certificate is available to students who complete 12 hours of undergraduate-level courses in hospitality administration and achieve an overall minimum GPA of 2.0 for the 12 credit hours.

Post-Master’s Certificate for the Family Nurse Practitioner

The online post-master’s certificate lets students with a Master of Science in Nursing explore another role or clinical focus with the help of personalized attention from knowledgeable and caring faculty. Degree plans are customized according to school policies, student educational needs, past coursework and certification.
