Welcome to SFA's Department of Economics and Finance!
Areas of study encompass banking, finance and economics, with bachelor's degrees, concentrations, minors and a nondegree banking certificate. Our faculty are dedicated to giving our students the tools, skills and personal mentorship needed to launch careers in investment management, corporate finance, public policy, data analysis and more.
The Chadwick Banking Program offers our newest area of study and is designed to prepare students for careers in commercial banking. The banking major includes unique real-world experiences, including projects involving local financial institutions, internships and visits to regulatory agencies. Students interested in pursuing a BBA in banking may qualify for scholarships set aside exclusively for this program.
Opportunities for engagement are offered through the Economics Reading Group, Mast Student Investment Roundtable, and several clubs and organizations.
Outside the classroom, we help prepare students for success in their careers through direct involvement with the Finance Club, Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, guided research projects, and one-on-one career advising. Moreover, our faculty hold terminal degrees (in most cases, PhDs in economics or finance) from top universities in the country.
