Meal plan requirements

If you live on campus, you’ll be required to buy a meal plan. Off-campus students have the option of purchasing a commuter or on-campus meal plan. Plans are available for fall, spring and summer semesters.

How meal plans work

Your meal plan comes with two features: meal swipes and Dining Dollars. You can access your meal swipes and Dining Dollars through your campus ID card.

Dining Dollars

Your plan will also include Dining Dollars. You can use DD to eat at any on-campus retail location, such as Chick-fil-A or Starbucks. You can add additional DD to your plan at any time throughout the semester via your mySFA account. You can purchase additional DD in increments of $25 or $100. For every $100 you purchase in additional DD, you get $10 DD free!

Your Dining Dollars roll over from fall to spring semesters. Dining Dollars do not roll over from spring to summer semesters or from summer to fall semesters.

You can check your meal swipe and Dining Dollar balance online via your mySFA account. Dining information is available under the “Campus Life” tab.

How to reload your Dining Dollars

  • Log in to mySFA.
  • Click the “Campus Life” tab.
  • Go to “Other Information.”
  • Click “Purchase Additional Dining Dollars.”

After your payment is processed, your Dining Dollars will be loaded onto your campus ID card.

Meal swipes

Meal swipes are a certain amount of meals you can eat at either dining hall on campus. There are two dining halls on campus. The Student Center Dining Hall is located on the first floor of the Baker Pattillo Student Center. The East College Dining Hall is located across from Steen Hall on East College Street.

When you buy a meal plan, you’re pre-paying for the meals you’ll eat during one semester. Every time one of our dining cashiers swipes your dining card, one meal is deducted from your total.

Students living in Lumberjack Village building 3 or off campus

You don’t have to live on campus to dine on campus. How to purchase a meal plan

You can sign up for a meal plan, or change your current meal plan, in a few easy steps:

  • Log in to mySFA.
  • Click the “Campus Life” tab.
  • Go to “Other Information.”
  • Click “Meal Plans – Sign Up or Change.”

After you make your selection, the cost of your meal plan will be added to your SFA eBill.
