Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)

Test Scheduling

Cost: $100 (Cash, check, money order made payable to SFASU, MasterCard, Visa or American Express)
Place: Thomas J. Rusk Building, Room 328
Time: Pre-Registration is required because space is limited.  You must call (936) 468-3958 to pre-register for TEAS.
Bring: Payment and current (not-expired) proper identification

Students may take the TEAS test once per application period. 

VERY IMPORTANT:  Students must notify Testing Services’ staff if they have ever taken the TEAS test in the past.  Failure to provide this notification may result in the voiding of your test scores and non-refunding of your test fees. 

Proper Identification should include:

  • A current photograph
  • The applicant’s signature
  • A permanent address

Examples of appropriate identification include:

  • Passport
  • Military ID
  • Government ID card
  • Driver's license
  • Alien residence (green) card

You are prohibited from bringing certain items with you during the test administration or any breaks.

Prohibited Items

Students may not have any of the following items during the test administration or during any breaks:

  • Food, drink, gum, candy and tobacco products
  • Textbooks, notes or reference books of any kind
  • Sunglasses,  hats or a hood
  • Calculator
  • Music (CD players, MP3 players, iPods, etc.)
  • Communication devices including cell phones, pages, PDA, etc.
  • Cameras or electronic devices

Accommodations for Examinees with Disabilities

If you require accommodations based on a professionally diagnosed and documented disability, you may submit documentation to support your request to SFA Disability Services.  All documentation must be submitted well in advance of your preferred testing date.  Contact Disability Services at (936) 468-3004 if you have questions concerning special accommodations for the TEAS Test.
