NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The SFA Gardens at Stephen F. Austin State University will host its monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 21, in Room 110 of the Agriculture Building located at 1924 Wilson Dr. Bobby Ward of Raleigh, N.C., will present a talk based on his most recent book, "Chlorophyll in His Veins - J.C. Raulston, Horticultural Ambassador."

SFA choirs to sing in New York, community participants welcome
Members of Stephen F. Austin State University's Choral Union and Women's Choir will be singing Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Dona nobis pacem" at Avery Fisher Hall of Lincoln Center in March 2012 as part of a large choir organized by MidAmerica Productions. Out-of-this-world artist to speak at SFA
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Apollo 12 astronaut Alan Bean, the fourth man to walk on the moon and an award-winning artist, will be the featured guest at the 2011 installment of the Archie McDonald Speaker Series at Stephen F. Austin State University.
The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in the Grand Ballroom of the Baker Pattillo Student Center on the SFA campus.

SFA Piney Woods Camerata to perform baroque music
NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The SFA College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present the Piney Woods Camerata at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 10, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.
The conductor-less ensemble formed in 2007, is composed of SFA string faculty members Drs. Jennifer Dalmas (violin) and Evgeni Raychev (cello) together with select SFA string students. The group is dedicated to performing music from the baroque and classical periods. For the April 10 concert, pianist Dr. Geneva Fung, SFA staff accompanist, will join the group.
Six area artists accepted to 'Texas National 2011'
NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The School of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University has announced that works by six Nacogdoches and Lufkin artists will be included in "TEXAS NATIONAL 2011," which will open with a 6 to 8:30 p.m. reception Saturday, April 9, in the Ledbetter Gallery of The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House, located at 329 E. Main St. in downtown Nacogdoches. The show will run through Saturday, May 21.
