What is Unity Week?
A week designed to provide a unified, caring, safe and respectful educational experience. Throughout the week, activities will be planned to celebrate each unique quality, idea, tradition, culture and opinion as a strength, not a weakness. The knowledge and wisdom during this week will guide each individual to embrace other backgrounds and encourage collaboration.

Monday, Feb. 6
Unity Week Kick Off: Disability Inclusion and Access Panel Discussion
11 a.m. | Student Center Twilight Ballroom
The panel will discuss the importance of accessibility and how the SFA community can ensure that people of all abilities have full access to the Lumberjack experience.
Tuesday, Feb. 7
Tell Us What Unity Means To You
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Student Center Spirit Lounge
Faculty, staff and students will answer questions related to unity and diversity, equity and inclusion in a short 30-second video format. The videos will be compiled into one presentation that can be seen during the ninth annual Diversity Conference.
Wednesday, Feb. 8
A Faculty-led Discussion on the Present and Future of Inclusion in America and Texas
Noon - 1:30 p.m. | Student Center Twilight Ballroom
Join the discussion on the present and future of diversity in America. Refreshments will be provided.
Unity Walk
5 p.m. | Stay on Clark and Raguet Streets
Organizations can sign-up to participate in this event and will be paired with another organization. Together, those organizations will create a banner about what unity means to them that will be held during the walk around campus. At the end of the Unity Walk, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony. To register your organization, sign up through The Handle in mySFA.

International Student Association Fashion Show and World Night Market

The International Student Association will be hosting a fashion show. After the show, enjoy a walk around the World Night Market to taste various foods and participate in activities.

DEI Awards
4 p.m. | Student Center Twilight Ballroom
These awards will highlight faculty, staff, students, organizations, and community members who have contributed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives on campus and in the Nacogdoches community.
Friday, Feb. 10
Diversity Conference
8 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Student Center Grand Ballroom
SFA’s Diversity Conference seeks to provide a platform for presenters to share their diversity-related work with conference attendees and engage in vital multicultural dialogue. The annual event invites students, faculty and staff, as well as peers from higher education institutions and DEI-focused programs to speak about initiatives for strengthening inclusion.
