Research interesting careers
There are hundreds of possible careers that require an understanding of the biological sciences. As such, a biology major provides the foundation for a wide range of professional opportunities, including:
- Graduate studies, with the objective of working as a professor at the community college or university level
- Industry jobs in settings like environmental consulting firms, pharmaceutical companies or biological supply companies
- Jobs with state or federal agencies such as the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
- Jobs with non-profit organizations such as the Nature Conservancy, the World Wildlife Fund or the American Humane Society
- Teaching biology at the high school level
- Careers in the medical sciences, including include dentistry, forensics or veterinary medicine
