The vision of SFA Gardens

Through education, inspiration, conservation and innovation, we strive to achieve the following:

  1. Promote the conservation, selection and use of the native plants of Texas.
  2. Acquire, evaluate and promote new and adapted landscape plant materials while promoting plant diversity in the landscape.
  3. Serve as a living laboratory for SFA students and faculty and the nursery and landscape industries.
  4. Provide an aesthetic and educational environment for students, visitors and local citizens. 

We're passionate about plants

SFA Gardens staff members may come from a wide range of backgrounds, but they all have at least one thing in common: They truly love plants. They're passionate about East Texas plant life and sharing their knowledge through education and community programs for all ages.
