SFA is proud to partner with UT System and the Association of College and University Educators, or ACUE to offer faculty and staff opportunities to explore and adopt evidence-based strategies that promote student success.

Annually, cohorts of SFA faculty can participate in one of two series, which are very similar content but geared toward different modalities:

  • Effective Teaching Practices, or ETP
  • Effective Online Teaching Practices, or EOTP

Each series is comprised of four courses that offer a complete set of evidence-based teaching practices that build on existing knowledge and expand instructional skill sets. Each course lasts approximately six weeks and takes 15 to 20 hours to complete.

  • Inspiring Inquiry and Preparing Lifelong Learners
  • Promoting Active Learning
  • Creating an Inclusive and Supportive Learning Environment
  • Designing Learner-Centered Courses

Faculty wanting to complete any of the four individual courses above may do so without having to complete the entire certificate. For details, please email Megan Weatherly or Cindy Kilpatrick.

Under the terms of our ACUE license, individuals who have completed any of the available ACUE courses have access to the ACUE Learning Lab, which includes the AI Quick Study series. Please email ctl@sfasu.edu for details.
