All candidates for the Master of Professional Accountancy are required to complete 30 semester credit hours of graduate-level business courses: five core MPAc courses and five courses that vary based on whether you choose to add a concentration.
Core MPAc courses
(15 semester credit hours, 5 courses)
- ACCT 5312 - Seminar in Accounting Research and Analysis
- ACCT 5342 - Advanced Financial Accounting II
- ACCT 5347 - Advanced Auditing
- ACCT 5365 - Ethics and Professional Issues in Accounting
- ACCT 5320 - Professional Communication for Accountants
The 2023-24 graduate bulletin incorrectly lists this course requirement as BCOM 5320.
Additional courses
Adding the forensic accounting and analytics concentration to your Master of Professional Accountancy degree plan is optional. It's a great fit if you'd like to pursue a career in anti-fraud.

Additional program requirements
- All courses must be completed within six years of graduate enrollment.
- To remain in good standing, students must have a 3.0 GPA (B average) in all graduate work.
- No Ds and no more than two Cs may be counted toward graduate degree requirements.
- No more than two graduate classes may be repeated to improve the course grade.
- The GPA may not be improved by retaking a course at another university.
- When approved by the MPAc director, a student may transfer a maximum of six semester credit hours from another school.
