About the Program
Lumberjack Connection is a peer mentoring program designed to help students find connection and community at SFA when they need it.
Students are matched with a trained peer mentor who can help them build relationships, become more involved on campus, learn about university resources and strengthen their sense of belonging at SFA.
Students may connect with Lumberjack Connection at any point during the academic year, whether they are looking to meet more people, become more involved or simply want a peer who can help them feel more connected to the Lumberjack community.
Lumberjack Connection students may also have opportunities to participate in select ASPIRE activities and events, providing additional ways to build relationships and engage with the SFA community.
How It Works
Students can join Lumberjack Connection by completing the student interest form or through a referral from an SFA faculty or staff member. Once connected with the program, students are matched with a trained peer mentor who serves as a peer connection and helps them explore opportunities to engage with the SFA community.

- Navigate the transition and adjustment to college life
- Strengthen their sense of belonging at SFA

Lumberjack Connection focuses on peer mentoring, connection and campus engagement. Peer mentors do not provide academic advising, tutoring, counseling or case management services but can help connect students with the appropriate SFA resources when additional assistance is needed.
