Military Science, minor

Overview

Open to all students, the military science minor focuses on leadership, military law, and organization and logistics. Enrollment in ROTC is not required for this minor.

Interested in becoming an Army ROTC cadet?

A supplement to your academic pursuits, the military science program is designed for Lumberjack Army ROTC cadets. This is an on-campus, officer-commissioning program that adds military training to participating students' education.

You must successfully complete the ROTC training program and earn a bachelor's degree. You'll become eligible to be commissioned as a second lieutenant in either the U.S. Army, Army National Guard or Army Reserve.

If you're unsure of a career in the U.S. Army, you may take military science courses without any military obligation.
