BUSI 1010 and BUSI 4010 Career Passport courses are two of the business common courses required for all business students. Graduating with a business degree from SFA includes successful completion of these courses and associated points and badges.
Platform details
Powered by the online platform Suitable, Career Passport is a comprehensive professional development program accessible through your desktop or mobile device. There is no charge to students to access Suitable.
The two Career Passport online courses utilize Suitable as a tool to track your completion and earned badges for required course activities. Reference materials, program information, graduation requirements and the course syllabi will be available in the applicable Brightspace by D2L course.
Online course requirements
These are zero-credit-hour courses and therefore you will not receive a letter grade. A passing grade is achieved by successfully completing course requirements and corresponding badge requirements in Career Passport.

BUSI 1010 Passport Orientation
This course is required in your plan of study for your first semester as a business student. When it's time to register for the appropriate semester, visit the registration page in mySFA and follow the steps to register, adding BUSI 1010 to your registered courses. You'll access the class through Brightspace by D2L.

- Before you can register for any classes, you must meet with your academic advisor and clear any holds on your account.
BUSI 4010 Passport Conclusion
Once you've earned 90 or more semester credit hours, register for BUSI 4010 following the same steps as above. This capstone course marks the end of your Career Passport journey!

Can I opt out of the Career Passport program requirement?
Students with a career history that includes a full-time professional position for a minimum of five years may request to opt out of the Career Passport program and degree requirements.
Complete the online form and allow four to six weeks for processing.
How do I register for Suitable?
Registering is easy! At the beginning of your first semester as an SFA business student:
- download the free app in Google Play or Apple Store
- and log in using your mySFA credentials.
Your account will remain active for at least one year after you graduate.
What is required the first semester?
You must enroll in, and successfully complete, BUSI 1010.
This course will cover several modules detailing:
- professional development for early career launch
- course and graduation requirements
- and how to earn activity points and badges.

Where can I see all Career Passport events at a glance?
All upcoming events and activities are available on the activities page of the Suitable app. You also may choose to filter the view to show specific interests.
A weekly update is sent to your mySFA email address with information about upcoming events.
How do I submit an activity/event for Career Passport credit?
Completed activities and events are logged through your Suitable app. Allow at least seven business days for Career Passport credit to appear.
If you're submitting on behalf of a group of business students, complete the online submission form. Students should allow four to six weeks for processing.
How do I know when it's time to register for BUSI 4010?
Once you've completed 90 semester credit hours, it's time to enroll in BUSI 4010.
While your academic advisor will likely identify the appropriate time to include the course on your advising form, it is ultimately your sole responsibility to manage and ensure graduation requirements are met on time.
What are the Career Passport graduation requirements?
You must successfully complete two courses — BUSI 1010 and 4010 — and earn a minimum of four Suitable badges.
