Pliés in the Pines is a a full-day immersive experience for high school seniors and includes:
- A tour of campus and dance facilities
- Interviews with faculty members and the chance to meet current dance majors
- Opportunities to audition for acceptance and scholarships within the School of Theatre and Dance.

In-person auditions
Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026
5:30-7:30 p.m.
Griffith Fine Arts Building, Room 325
All dancers attending this audition receive one complementary ticket to the Tableau: Dance Faculty Concert at 2 p.m. and will be considered for scholarship. To receive a dance scholarship, dancers must be seen in-person through a dance program audition, recruitment performance, or through attending an SFA dance program technique course.
Auditionees must bring a current headshot and resume.
Video auditions
Dancers may audition for the SFA dance program and technique placement through a video submission, if they are unable to attend an in-person audition or technique class. To be considered, video submissions must be submitted by Dec. 1 for spring semester admittance or by June 1 for fall semester admittance. Any submission submitted after the June 1 deadline will result in a technique placement of Level 1.
How to submit a video audition
- Please learn the dance program audition phrases and upload your recording as an unlisted YouTube video.
- Complete the School of Theatre and Dance application. You will provide the link to your audition video in the application.
