You’ll join the original Bachelor of Fine Arts in creative writing program in Texas. It’s one of just a handful in the nation. Come gain fundamental and advanced training in the craft and technique of writing across many genres. Your coursework includes:

- Literary publishing: Understand the industry landscape.

Recognition for your work
Your writing won’t just stay in a notebook. You can submit your best pieces to the annual Literary Awards to earn recognition for your excellence in fiction, poetry and nonfiction.
Requirements for admission to SFA
All applicants must meet the undergraduate admission requirements. Select the option that best describes you:
- First-year student (have never enrolled in college)
- Transfer student (have enrolled in college)
- All other applicants

Priority deadlines
SFA has rolling admissions. That means you can apply to the university anytime. Although, applying early has financial and housing benefits. Make sure to check with your specific department! Some programs need extra paperwork by a certain date to consider you for the upcoming semester.
