This degree consists of 60 credit hours. You'll spend your time mastering the technical and creative aspects of film through intensive studio work and independent study.

Apply to the filmmaking master's program
Students seeking admission to SFA graduate programs must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution. You're responsible for submitting application materials required for admission and any supplemental items as requested.
To be eligible for consideration into this program, you must achieve achieve a 2.5 GPA overall and 3.0 GPA in the major.
If your college transcripts don't show a strong science background, you may be required to take certain leveling courses once you join the program.
Ready? Complete the graduate school application and send the following three items directly to the School of Art:
- digital portfolio of your films, including movies you created or played a major role in producing
- collection of your original scripts
- portfolio of your production design artwork
- statement regarding your career goals
- and three completed recommendation forms.
