Paddling at Caddo Lake & Longhorn Ammunition Plant

Explore one of the spookiest places in East Texas with Outdoor Pursuits. The film location for M. Night Shamylan’s movie of the same name, Caddo Lake is one of the only natural lakes in Texas and spreads web-like, weaving for miles through dense forests. While there we’ll float under drapes of Spanish Moss amongst the creeping and crawling Cypress Knees of this East Texas bayou. Wander with us through abandoned concrete structures towering through the forests at the historic Longhorn Army Ammunition Plant, built on the shores of the Lake and now resting in the borders of a federal wildlife refuge.
