The Best of SFA Awards annually recognize three students who excel in the areas of scholarship; participation and leadership in academic and co-curricular activities; and service and loyalty to the university. These exemplary students  are honored during the Lumberjack Achievement Awards Banquet each spring semester and represent SFA throughout  the following academic year.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have completed 90 earned credit hours by the end of the previous fall semester At least 48 of those hours must have been completed at SFA.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade-point average.
  • Must be within 12 months of graduating from SFA.
  • Must be enrolled for the current spring semester.
  • Must not have received a similar award from SFA or any other college or university.

Application Requirements

  • Online application accessible via the Campus Life tab on mySFA
  • Two letters of support  (one must be from a faculty or staff member at SFA)
  •  Ability to represent SFA well during the following academic year

Selection Criteria

  • Scholarship, participation, and leadership in academic and co-curricular activities
  • Service and loyalty to the university
  • Ability to represent SFA well during the following academic year
  • In-person interview
