Dr. Ilko Rusev will present a guest bass recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present Dr. Ilko Rusev in a guest bass recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.

Rusev and pianist Geneva Fung, SFA staff accompanist, will perform original compositions and bass arrangements spanning 300 years, said Dr, Evgeni Raychev, SFA adjunct faculty in the School of Music. "These virtuoso pieces are considered staples in the bass literature and are played worldwide by concert artists."

Rusev is a graduate of the Bulgaria Music Academy and currently teaches at the University of Antioquia and the EAFIT University in Bogata, Colombia. He has given solo and chamber music recitals in both Europe and South America.

The recital is a joint presentation of the SFA College of Fine Arts and School of Music. It is a part of the 2010-2011 Cole Performing Arts Series.
